I am perplexed
Hi all,
Our search has finally been narrowed down to a diesel pusher.
But.....Can't seem to decide between 40ft-45ft Holiday Rambler Navigator vs. 40ft-45ft American (Eagle, Tradition, Revolution). We are looking at models from 2006 - 2012.
How about some feedback from American Owners and Holiday Rambler? Dependability, ease of getting maintenance or problems resolved, chasis, engine, high quality and lasting materials used, ease of changing out refridgerators to residential 3 door (2 on top, freezer on bottom)...bath and half, slide quality ( hydro vs electric)...??
Appreciate it to all.

American Coach factory service is outstanding - I've had my coach there twice. And since Allied Recreation now owns Monaco/Holiday, that's the same place you would go for HR factory service, but the techs there know a lot less about the pre-bankruptcy Monaco/HR rigs that the new ones.
Since there were an awful of big Monaco & HR caches made, dealer experience with them is widespread, maybe more than with the American brand. That's kind of a toss-up, since you may not get to plan where you are when you need service. Most RV systems are much alike anyway, so a fridge or a water p[ump problem is much the same no matter what brand you own.
I think you will find that most high end coach owners will defend their brand choice strongly. What matters more is how well the coach suits your wants & needs.

Gary's thoughts are spot on. I live in a RV community so therefore am exposed to most models. Having owned two FW coaches I can with certainty say CS is top shelf. I'm under the impression that on the AC CS side even better. No matter your choice you've narrowed them down to a selection of very top quality coaches. Now just go with due diligence and purchase the floor plan that DW likes. You'll be fine!

Agree about the AC phone service...excellent. However, regardless of brand, if you get the floor plan the D/W likes, you can't go wrong.

Gary,
Have had a 06 American Eagle and now have a 12 American Eagle.
I believe these as well as the Newmars are top of the lines...
If you think Holiday Rambler is in the same range I dont think you research has been helping you properly
American Coaches are full-time coaches. Ramblers are really not according to RV consumer union.
If you are going Full-time find you a good American coach that has been kept indoors and well maintained. You will be glad you did
If you want to discuss in detail email me privately. Be glad to get on the phone with you

If you think a HR Navigator or Imperial is not a great full time coach then your research is faulty. RV Consumer Union aka RV.org is one tool but in many ways is a product of the mindset of J.D. Gallant. His preference is a no slide class C.
