I have a friend that is looking at a fleetwood discovery that is for sale. Its a 1997, and I am having trouble finding information about the options that were available that year. Looking at the Fleetwood website turns up nothing.

Anybody have any links to information about this coach?

Who cares what options were available? What counts is what equipment is on the coach and does it work?

If you are trying to calculate the NADA retail price value, forget about options. The NADA book price is "as typically equipped", not bare bones. It is extremely unlikely there will be any options on a 97 that will alter its value any significant amount.

I care...it tells you a lot about the motor home. Second AC???yeah, I want that. Upgraded heater? Yeah, I want that. Also information about the gen set, tanks, Inverter/converter, etc, etc, etc.

The coach is nicely equipped (looked, drove and the friend Bought it this morning), and in pretty good shape. Its not perfect, but the engine runs well, coach drives well (54,000 miles) and everything works. He seemed pretty happy when we left. He'll pick up the coach on Monday.

Great coach for him and his family, Great deal too, $22,000

The best place to research options for the Discovery is on NADA.com, simply click the options that are on the coach, the top of the column will list all standards, below will show available options for that year. Or you could contact me, and I will be happy to do so on your behalf.

I have to agree with Gary, it might be nice to know what options were available but it really doesn't make much difference to you (it's not as if you can go back and get them) so all that matters is if it's got what you want and it's condition. For $22k, that sounds like an great price so that's even less reason to care about the options.

As far as the weight rating, tank sizes, etc, hopefully the owner will have the manuals so you'll be able to get that from him (although even that's pretty standard and you get what it comes with). As far as the options, I don't think there's any 'deal breakers' anyway; it was probably things like cooktop vs cooktop w/ range, washer/dryer, sat dish, larger gen set, sleeper sofa vs fold out, leather, dinette vs table, etc. Best way to find out might simply look for other listings of the same model and see what they have.

Your friend can call Fleetwood with the FID (Fleetwood ID number) and they can give him the particulars on this particular coach.
