J-Sofa Removal
The cushions in my j-sofa are worn out and need to be replaced. The upholstery shop that I use said the sofa needs to be removed from the RV in order for them to work on it. I measured the sofa as well as the entry door opening, and I’m not sure it can be removed via the entry door. Has anybody tried removing one? I really don't want to have to pop out the windshield.

Are you referring to JACK-KNIFE couches?
I removed both of mine...one was 63" and the other 68"...removed bolts and out they went with minor maneuvering.

I see how the floor brackets come off, but it still looks big unless the back of the sofa disassembles from the base.

Holy tamales...now I see your challenge. Maybe it disassembles. I'm backing-out as I really don't know.

Like Ed said, you need to unbolt from the floor and turn it over. Then you will see how it is assembled and where you can dismantle it enough to move it. We took an L-shaped Flexsteel Extend-a-lounge sofa out of our Bounder but it had to be taken apart before removing.
It will likely be in several pieces, but the upholsterer would have to do that anyway to recover it. Make sure to keep all the nuts and bolts, and remind the upholstery guy that it will need to be put back into the RV in pieces, then reassembled when inside.
