We have a Providence 07 and the control box is under the dash behind the door (near the coach fuses. On the side is a little black button ,First turn key on then push button little light will flash 2 or 3 times hold down on you remote and wait till lights stop. try door lock ,unlock if it works your good to go. may take a couple of tries. good luck.

Here is what my control box looks like. I really don't understand it, but I have to reset/reprogram my remote about 2-3 times a year.

mgosselin or GlenB; Is your red light on the sending unit, on all the time or only when you push the black button?

I replaced the battery in my fob, but still can't get it to lock/unlock the door. The light on the fob comes on when a button is pushed. Gripper

I tried and followed your instructions, but no joy. Also, the light never came on at all. I guess I have deeper problems. Tomorrow, I will run some checks on the "sending unit", to see if it is getting any power. I may have a blown fuse or a bad circuit board in the sender. Thanks for your help. Gripper

To update my efforts of trying to fix my keyless entry problem:

Today, I ran tests on the sending unit, with my meter, I checked the incoming leads and it was definitely getting power.

So, I pulled out the manuals that came with the MH and whattayaknow? There was a leaflet on "Fleetwood Keyless Entry Remote". It had pictures and instructions on how to get the sending unit to "learn a new transmitter". Here is a copy of what I found:

It is difficult to read, but (if you double-click on the picture it's bigger) basically, it says...
Step 1 - Turn the ignition on.
Step 2 - Depress the black button 3 times. (The LED light will come on solid)
Step 3 - Depress the "Lock" button on the transmitter(s) (The LED light will flash once, when it learns the transmitter's code)
Step 4 - Turn the key off (The LED light will be off)

But alas, I was unable to make my system work! in fact, the LED light never came on at all, even though I am sure it is getting power. I even checked for power, right up to the light! So, it looks like I will have buy another sending unit. I guess I will be contacting Lazy Days Dealership, in Tampa and see if they can find me another.

It Works! Perseverance pays off! Saved myself $250.00!

While searching the internet, for a new sending unit, I ran across a site, that led me back to IRV2. An RV'er, call sign "tedwards1555" had posted a plea for help in getting his keyless entry to work. He was not successful and ordered a new one, for about $250, which included two new fobs. In getting the new ones to work, he listed the directions that came with the new one.

What is important, is that he found out the black button had to be pressed "immediately", after the key was turned on. Then the red light would come on. Also, you are to wait (this is improtant) until the sending unit recognizes the transmitter(s). When that happens, the red light will start flashing. Then you can turn the key off. Press the lock button on the fob and it will work!

I followed these steps and now, mine works! Hooray! Funny thing is, the instructions do not say "immediately" and they do not say to "wait for the light to start flashing". Note that the instructions that I posted in #9 above, say to press the transmitter (fob) and the red light will flash once. This did not happen when I did it. In fact, the red light did not come on at all when I followed those instructions. "Immediately", is the key. Thank you tedwards1555!

have a friend that has an 05 discovery with the same problem. after resetting the module it still did not work properly but now works fine. the cause was the small brass buttons in the door frame and on the door. they were corroded but cleaned them with a wire brush. all ok at this time.

That's good to know! I have noticed those "buttons", but never knew what they were for.

My FOB, came with the RV. In fact, I have two of them, they just quit working, when I replaced a battery on one FOB. Other than searching the internet or calling my dealer (Lazy Days) I wouldn't know.
