Has anyone replace the keyless entry system on a Fleetwood? I lost the set of keys that contained the only remote fob we got from the seller. We wanted two all along and found out they aren't cheap to buy. We did find a complete system that seems to be the standard for Fleetwood on eBay. The seller gave us a pretty good price of $249 and it included the controller, wiring harness and two fobs.
Here is the part number : PT # RKE100FW
Seller claims it's a simple replacement... we'll see.
Just wondered if anyone else has ever replace it.
Thanks
Ed

The original was an aftermarket type system that Fleetwood installed anyway, so replacing it should not be a big deal. The one in my '04 American Tradition is the Poplocks brand.

Ed,

For that kind of money you could get an alarm installed with it's own set of key fobs. I had one installed on my Providence at the beginning of the year, it ran me $350 total, since I had the installer add an interior motion sensor. The guy I used has done many RV's and is very familiar with the stock locking systems. The key fobs that came with the system replaced the factory Fleetwood fobs, which I now leave at home.

Not sure where you're located, but the shop I used was Steve's Auto Security in Upland CA.

I received the keyless entry system and two fobs yesterday, I read the instructions and simply programmed the fobs to work with my existing system... didn't even need to install the new one, but now I have it as a back up when the other one goes out.
If anyone ever tries to program keyless fobs with the rke100fw system... which it appears is pretty standard on most Fleetwood RV's, the steps are simple but you need to know a few tricks.

1) find the rke100fw (usually under the dash behind the swing out)
2) find the red or black button and red led on the side of the unit (mine was on the right)
3) turn the ignition on and "quickly" press the button 3 times... the led will light red solid...
4) press the lock button on the new fob and hold it till the led on the unit blinks
5) turn the ignition off and test your fob... it should lock and unlock the door now

I tried it several times yesterday and it would not work. I did some research online and discovered that you need to press the button 3 times (really fast) and very soon (5 to 10 seconds) after you turn on the ignition. Once I took that online advice it worked great.
