Koni or Bilstein Shocks for a 1998 Fleetwood American Dream

I recently purchased a 1998 Fleetwood American Dream and the right front airbag has a small air leak which will need to be replaced. On my check ride it drifted right quite a bit. I figure that the shocks maybe causing this and should be changed out, my question is which is better Koni or Bilstein and why?

Thanks,

Lloyd Miller

I replaced the Bilstein's with Koni's on my UFO chassis and it made a world of difference. The Koni's gave me a softer ride with no "porpoiseing"

I was told that drifting means you need a front end align. Good luck.

I don't think shocks have anything to do with the steering drifting to the right. That's not what shocks do.
I'd be looking at tire pressure (should be same on both fronts), the condition of the tires themselves, and a front end alignment.

Thanks for the info. I think I will take it in for an alignment. I had the shocked checked and they were fine. I have new tires and the tire pressure is correct. So my next step is the alignment.

Have the ride height checked before aligning as well. The ride height has to be correct first because it will change the alignment if adjusted later.

By the way, if you are not already a member of the American Coach Owners Yahoo Group, I suggest you join. Tremendous info resource for American Coach owners. I also recommend the American Coach Association, but that's for social purposes.
