Kwikee steps won't extend
Kwikee steps (part # 903311000) were working fine when we pulled out this morning. Have had no problems with them whatsoever. When stopped for gas this afternoon, nothing. Light was on lockout switch, steps should have extended, engine off, door open. Step light was on. Nothing at motor. No click, no sound, nothing. I have disconnected and reconnected plugs, nothing. I have tapped on motor with hammer, nothing. Looking for suggestions.

Step activation is triggered by the magnet on the door-if you have 12V power there.
This video shows how to test Kwikee steps: https://vimeo.com/45602427
Just FYI, over 90% of all 12v issues are the result of a poor/missing ground.

Electrical problems after driving thru rain
Now I don't know where to start looking. My post "Kwikee steps won't extend" describe my original problems. I failed to mention that we had driven in rain prior. This morning, the first time I opened the door, the steps still did not extend. Unhooked MH, drove a couple of miles, opened door, steps worked.
Stopped this afternoon and jacks(power gear, electric) were in error mode. I was able to override error codes and get the jacks back to operational. Looks and sounds like a grounding problem maybe. How do I find the source of the problem?

Finding a poor ground is time-consuming and tedious, at least for me. Logically I'd begin where wires can get wet, the steps. Make sure each and every ground connection is clean and tight, beginning at the steps motor, and progressing backwards towards your battery bank. If that doesn't solve the problem, do the same for the positive side of the wiring.
You may find multiple connections that require cleaning and re-tightening, maybe even a broken or heavily corroded wire.
Did I mention I hate 12V wiring problems_?
