Learning the hard way

I recently bought a 1990 32' Bounder on a f-super duty chassis with a 460 eng. I bought new batteries 1 12v n 2 6v. Unfortunately I connected them wrong n screwed up a lot of wiring. It started when the fridge stopped working, then fuse in circuit three kept blowing along with losing lights in center of coach. I have also had probs with the generator. It starts up fine but when I release the switch it dies. I'm not too far from fixing it all, just replaced solenoid, voltage reg and redid wiring for the most part. I have all the manuals it came with and found a service manual for genset online. I still hear a screeching/humming noise I think is from alternator. Also voltage now rides about 13 v. (after raising to 15 n it makes a short buzzing sound then drops to 13v) does any one have a lead on the wiring diagram for ignition/starting /charging? Its not equipped w/a
battery control center.

That's just one of many upcoming little quirks with it, enjoy it.

Thank you for taking your time to read my posting. I have been doing a lot of research on this matter and have finally all but figured it out. I'm down to hopefully one (maybe 2)last. Purchases of pages then it should be as it should be. It turns out the battery control switch is the culprit. I found one on Amazon n eBay for under $20. May have to rerepair/rebuild the alternator as well.

connectingtwo 6v golfcart batteries rto a motorhome

Well, I've now learned how to fry my Bird! Anyone know where to get a new (used) one? I've searched ebay, Amazon, google, craigslist. Haven't had much luck. Should I contact the manufacturer? Its an old 1987 build circuit board. When I installed the battery disconnect relay it smoked the board n now no longer charges my house batteries. Also I called and located the chassis wiring schematics through an archive section of the publishing co that happened to have them for a mere $60 and ordered it. If anyone needs a copy I'll be glad to share. May post them online or email directly to u (providing in not infringing on protected material) but will help in anyway possible. This has been frustrating to say the least. But we'll worth it since it is my and my families home. Now I just need a place to park!?!! If there is someone who has been through it as well I'd love to hear from you. Thanks for reading!

Can you tell us exactly what you "fried". Your coach did NOT originally have a BIRD circuit. It DID have an IRD circuit. Is that what you fried?
