LED awning light recommendation

2012 Bounder 35k

I am installing an LED light strip below the awning. Looking for recommendations for wiring. I prefer to not drill a hole through the wall, but might have to.

I was hoping to use the hole the power awning wiring goes thru, but there is no access on the inside, just a wall.

So far the best option I have found is drilling a hole just in front of the awning arm. This will give access on the inside just behind the speaker. I could then tap the power for the awning.

Any other ideas?

Someone put an led strip on mine. They got the wire in like you said, it comes in behind the slide control panel than runs through the cabinets to the one above the microwave. There it plugs into a converter into 110. I replaced the non functioning one with an Amazon cheapo with remote and color changing for less than 10 bucks.

I installed today using a WiFi LED strip that has the IR remote as well as WiFi capability. I am really impressed with the WiFi range. I was 100 ft away with the LED strip and receiver inside the coach and it still worked. The app has tons of options to control the lights. I bought the 300 LED strip which is basically double the amount of lights from the older ones.

I ended up putting the WiFi receiver on the top of the awning arm bracket. There is actually a little shelf just under the drip rail that fit it perfectly and will keep it protected from elements. I heat shrinked everything. I then drilled a small 3/16 hole just in front of the awning arm. It comes through just behind the speaker. I then tapped the power for the awning controller.

I also recommend silicon for the first and last couple of inches for the LED strip. The double sided tape is ok, but the silicon should help it from flying off.
