Just got our wireless camera system and the License plate on our 83 Pace Arrow is to the left of the spare tire hub and if I installed it there I would have very limited vision because the camera would be blocked by the tire, so I want to move it more center, has anyone done this and if so can they provide me with how they powered it? I guess I could run a wire from the same backup light connection but I would have an exposed wire hanging and I would then have to find a way to cover them up so they are safe and secure, and all suggestions welcomed.

Has anyone mounted one of these cameras over the stock hardwired camera, and if so again how did you run the power?

You might have wireless reception problems depending on your length. They usually say no more than 23-30 feet between camera and monitor.

And for the best view, mount your camera in the center, near the roof, aiming down somewhat. Little bitty cars need them on the licence plate, but big manly MHs want a big, panoramic view.

Well the 83 is 27 foot by by my measurement it is 30 foot so I hope it work out out OK, otherwise I have thrown the money away.

I mounted one of the same units on my previous MH. Moved it up mid awy, wired it with a lead from the running lights. This way I could monitor the toad all the time. I always use running lights when traveling.

The running lights, where did you connect it, and how did you secure the wires? Are you referring to the ones on top and or side?

I connected to the tail light, (brown wire) with an inline quick connect. Camera comes on when any lights are on, such as parking lif=ghts or full running lights.

I mounted mine at the top rear under the clearance lights and wired it to them. drilled one hole for power wires. works pretty good most of the time but there is a lot of interference out there at times.

Sounds like you got it handled, You do get interference on that small init from power lines, traffic lights etc. But, the price is right for an easy, inexpensive camera to watch the toad. Good luck.

I too connected to the running lights and turn it on or off with the parking light switch. I wired the monitor into a dome light and turn it on with that switch. All the wires are under cover of the rear cap. Tape everything up well with good electrical tape and you should be OK.
