That's just what it means, clearance lights or in other words marker lights. Flick the switch an see what happens.

Lee, With no lights turned on look outside from you drivers seat at the marker lights along the side. When you toggle the switch they(meaning the marker lights) should turn on and off each time the switch is depressed.
I have a 2000 Bounder,so could you supply you Model information and we will go from there regarding the fuse and circuit info.
Dick.

I had a similar problem with my 03 southwind. Turned on the headlight switch and got head lights only. No clearance or tail lights also no instrument illumination and no tail lights on the tow vehicle. I unscrewed the headlight switch from the dash and found a very badly fried wire. Got a new switch from NAPA ($65.00) and a pigtail from a junk yard ($2.00). Swapped the good wires from bad pigtail to the replacement pigtail and cut the burnt wire and spliced it to the good pigtail. All the lights now work perfectly!!!
