I recently purchased a 2005 Fleetwood Expedition 38N and noticed a label above the fuel fill compartment that said drain water from fuel water separator after each fill up. However, I can't find the fuel water separator. Does anyone know where it is?

I don't know where it is, but when you find it, don't bother to try to drain any water after refueling until you wait for several hours for the water to settle in and near the water separator.

Most are located on the left side of the engine. Pass. side. Most have a plastic see thru bottom with a twist knob to drain.

It is often built into the fuel filter - look for a petcock on the bottom. It may have a wire to it as well, and a "water in fuel" indicator on the dash.

I wouldn't worry about draining it at every fill-up. That's a precaution in case you fill at places that don't sell much diesel and water condensation builds up in their tanks. Even so, most dispenser pumps have a water filter anyway.

The new fuel you put in won't put water in the canister - it gets there as you drive. Any water you drain out came from the previous tank, not the new one.

According to the cat and cummigs reps. Customers are one step behind in draining the water. They say to drain the water when you fuel up so that you won't forget. You are actually draining the water from the last fill up. This is not the tank you are draining, It is the water from the fuel line just before it goes into the injector pump.

Check just aft of the rear axle on the curb side of your frame rail of your coach!
