Locked Out of Utility Bay

Needing any help or advice on baggage door locks. 1st off I have a 2013 Discovery and Today we stopped at a Truck stop for Lunch. I decided to walk around the Motorhome and lock all the baggage doors. This is no different than anything I've ever done in the past. When We reached our destination Tonight, I walked around and unlocked all the doors. All door unlocked as normal, except the door to the utility area. I've tried jiggling the key while trying to turn, but it's froze up solid. I'm afraid that I'll break the key. Thankfully I had the water tank full, so I'm Ok for a few days. Has anyone ever had this happen or have any thoughts on what to do. I have coach net and thought about calling them for a locksmith, but not sure if they would cover something like this. I would appreciate any feedback or help.

Have you tried pushing hard on the door and turn the key? I have had a door get out of adjustment and required a pretty hard push on the door to relieve the pressure on the latch befor the key would turn.

Spray wd40 into the lock using the red tube, let it sit over night. Use the key to excercise the tumblers by inserting over and over while respraying. Does the handle move at all?

Thanks everyone. Just went back out and tried again while pushing on the latch. I kept jiggling the key with a little more force and it finally turned and unlocked. I think Tomorrow I will go ahead and spray all the locks. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Congrats! Use something that won't attract dirt like "Strike Gold" or somethi g similar, also oil the strikers in the edge of the door.

I would suggest that you get graphite in a spray can that is made specifically for locks. Will last a lot longer than WD40 and does not attract dirt. It is black, so be careful where you spray it. The spray can comes with a tiny tube extension that will insert completely into the key hole. (You can get graphite for locks that is not in a spray can, that basically puffs out, lot less control where it goes.)

I use a teflon dry film spray, squirt it in the locks and on the latches, it dries and leaves the film behind.
