Looking for input on buying a 2005 Excursion - 39L. We looked at one today and showed very nicely but of course previous owners know all the ins and outs - what works best & what they wish was different. We own a fifth wheel now and have loved every minute of it (2005 Open Road by Pilgrim). Let me know what your experience has been or what to look out for - thanks. Hoping to get it for 80K.

Hi Annamgib;
You possibly already know this, but you can go to Fleetwood web site and download the original brochure and tech sheet on the model if you like.
Ed

Good Luck!

We love ours. The only thing we would consider is a 4th slide, but not a big deal. You might go to the Excursion Ownr=ers Group on Yahoo and post the same question. I have not seen any complaints posted there, but you might get some info.

Does the current owner have all of the service orders for work performed on the coach? I have an '05 Discovery which is basically the same coach with a 330 C7 and trim differences, good coach with a nice ride, if I'm not mistaken the 39L has 4 slides. I wish mine did, the foot of the bed could use a little more room when parked. 80K for a well maintained coach is a good price.

The Excursion is a nice ride, we seriously considered the Excursion when we were looking in 2006. One of the things that stopped us was the lack of storage. The one we looked at did not have a built in pantry. We ended up buying a 2006 Revolution LE and have been extremely happy.

We love our 2006 39L. The coach handles really well. There is plenty of storage space and it is very roomy with all 4 slides opened. Our only problem in 20,000 miles was that the LR DS slide motor had to be replaced. I know you will really like the 39L

We absolutely love ours. Only problem was with the windshield wiper arm which was fixed easily and under warranty. You will like the 39L.

I have a 39L and I love It, the only problem I had was the cabinet where the fridge goes in came a part from the wall It pulled away about 1 or 2 inches, and It had a draft from the side of the fridge, In the winter It was a pain, but I fixed It my self, had to pull out the fridge It was about a day worth of work, I heard that is a comun problem on those units, I still love my rv, Joe.

What do they say..."A fool and his money are soon parted!"

I made my offer today on a 05 providence, 350 Cat, outside entertainment center, 4 slides; 16 k miles. Offered way less than what they were asking, to see his come back.

he returned the offer with only a 3500 difference. Thinking he must have to sell, I balked and told him NO!

Thirty minutes later he returned and agreed

Guess now I will be the new owner.
