LP and Electric Water Heat

can i run the gad and electric heater for the wter at the same time? its very cold and our electric heatet takes a bit to warm up the water to shower.

I was running both but didn't want to hear the burner going off all night. I leave the electric running (might start turning it off on warm days) and turn the LP on when I wake up. By the time I have had breakfast the HW tank is ready to go. After showers, off goes the LP.
