LP Tank Switch
I am the recent owner of a 2005 Fleetwood Discovery 39S. The first time I had the LP tank filled, I noticed a rocker switch right next to the fill cap that says "Automatic Cut-Off" or something like that.
The LP fill station attendent told me it should be in the OFF position. I'm not sure what this is for or how it should be set ON or OFF?
What is this switch for?

I don't know exactly what your LP system looks like, but I'll give this a try.
If the LP tank's service valve is not readily accessible there will be a shut off solenoid in the supply line to the regulator , and the power to the solenoid must be switched off when filling, when the service valve can't be turned off, to fill the tank.
The attendant should turn the switch " OFF" when filling then back " ON " so the LP system is operational , when you're ready to use any LP appliance.

What Skip says. Turn it Off for filling or long term storage (assuming no LP use during storage). Turn it on for normal LP use.

Second thought ; I always have them ; , some coaches equipped with the LP solenoid , also power the solenoid through the LP gas leak detector , if the detector alarm sounds , all LP flow to the coach will be shut down.
So some things to consider if your propane appliances don't work, control switch in the off position , defective gas leak detector, defective solenoid valve , system fuse or wiring to the solenoid.
Isn't learning all about your RV fun.
This whole system operation should be covered in a Fleetwood owners manual, if the manual wasn't with the coach , contact Fleetwood , maybe they can provide the manual as a PDF.

That's precisely the way our Flair works. It took me a while to figure it all out too.
Best of luck.

Skip, I looked through the manuals that came with my coach and there wasn't any mention of the switch or instructions for filling the LP tank.
It seems that Fleetwood manuals are a bit vague about certain systems, but I would think the LP System would be covered very carefully for safety reasons.
Oh well, you have cleared up the question I had about the switch, thanks again.

If your 39S Discovery is like my 39L Excursion, you switch might look like the one below.
I have also attached a wiring diagram for the CO detector and LP switch. Please note that the CO detector DOES NOT control the LP solenoid.
