Anyone can be a member of any forum here. All you have to do is post asking to be one & a moderator gives you that karma posted under your user name. The main qualification for being a member of a manufacturer forum is to own an rv from that manufacturer. You have a lot in common with members owning an rv from the same manufacturer.
As to any actual advantage, I don't think there is one per se. However you might have an issue with your rv that's common with that specific manufacturer & not another. Posting your question in the forum for your rv manufacturer would possibly get you an answer sooner than if posted in a general forum. For example, having the grill bars on the front of your coach whistle or hum at highway speeds is a frequent issue with late model Fleetwood motorhomes. Most anyone with a newer Fleetwood motorhome has dealt with this issue & knows what to do to resolve it. Owners of Winnebago or Tiffin motorhomes probably wouldn't know about this noise (unless they keep tabs on the Fleetwood Forum discussions). So, posting a question about a Bounder or Southwind noisy front grill in the Fleetwood Forum would probably get you a quicker response than if you posted in the general MH Forums or another Forum.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.
