I am new here and don't know if this question has been asked or not. I have a older discovery that has the duckbill mount mirrors and I am looking for a replacement for the right (pass.) side. I have seen the newer discovery's that have a right side mirror that has a longer arm on it but I can't find it at any retailer. I have not had my discovery very long and I have to find something better than what's on it now, it's hard to see out of that side. thanks for any imput you may have.

Surely sombody has run across this before. This same mirror came on 96,97,98, and 99 model discovery's. The problem with it is that it mounts to close to the coach and does not give you proper line of sight down the right side because you are looking thru the curved part of the windshield. Anybody had this problem or am I the problem?

Lots of those MH were sold and a replacement should be easy to come by but a longer arm may not be so easy. Have you considered changing both mirrors to the longer Chrome extension arm type?

I talked to velvac tech. support and they said there is not a direct replacement for my mirror. They sent me a pdf file on what is available and what they offer isn't even close to what i have. They want me to basically build one piece by piece and guess on what length the arm should be. I thought maybe someone might have a less painful solution.

I'm assuming you've already tried calling your coach manufacturer?
If that doesn't work and nobody pops in with a good solution it looks like you'll still ave two choices.
1. Be a pioneer
2. Keep living with it as is

I would think the length of the arm on my coach would be close enough for your coach too

Any luck with this ever? I have a 97 just like yours and my passenger mirror got ripped off and I need to replace it. If you replaced yours with something different and have your old ones for sale, that would be great too!

Call Fleetwood with your FIN# and they can tell you who the mirror supplier is. It looks like a Velvac head but Fleetwood may have made a custom arm for it.

Thanks, I have called Fleetwood and Velvac and they do not make that mirror anymore. The replacement does not go where the original one goes.

I am thinking about sending my arm to Velvac and asking them to see if any of their existing heads will work on there. I don't care if the power feature is disabled, I just want it to look right.

Let me know what you end up with, I still have the same mirrors and I hate them. Everything that I have found is not a direct replacement. The newer replacement mount are different and not in the same spot. I know how you feel, my MH is older but it still looks good and i want it to look right too.

Will do, although I think I am going to have to wait for salvage pieces. Velvac is totally not willing to help. If you go a different route and sell yours, please let me know!

OK, you got it. Maybe one day Velvac will care enuff about a product they made to help existing customers with there issues, but I doubt it.
