A fellow 2004 Pace Arrow owner noticed that the lock nuts on the bolts attaching the driveshafts to the motors of the PowerGear slideout mechanisms had loosened and one had actually come off the bolt. When the rest of us attending our recent California Pacers rally checked ours, we each found one or more of them were loose. I suggest you check yours, especially if you have a 2004 Pace Arrow built at the Riverside plant.

On my 36B Pace Arrow, the loose lock nuts were found on both the galley and living room slides. Didn't check bedroom slide because it's mechanism isn't as exposed as the other slides.

Here is Power Gear's website www.powergearus.com.
Click on "Literature" and then type in the key word "Tips" for links to wiring diagrams, torque specs and much more.

Checked the nuts on my 04 Southwind 37C that's also built in Riverside and uses the same basic slide if not identical. All were tight. In fact, they were not hex head locknuts but round and knarled looking more like some a sort of rivet.

Are those called "acorn nuts"? I think the problem with my coach is that they were not tightened sufficiently when installed. PowerGear says when installed properly they should never loosen.
