I've had my 05 Revolution LE 40E for about 6 months now, and have driven it 2200 miles. The driving has been a mostly flat roads with some mountain driving to the LA area. I usually drive between 55 and 60mph. Average 7.11mpg. The one thing I haven't done, because I keep forgetting is to turn the econ mode on......I'm not sure how much difference that makes, I've heard about .2 mpg......every little bit helps.
7.11 mpg, curious, how that compares to other Revs

Are you pulling a toad? Is your dash air running? Those are two pretty big questions that make a big difference.

I have an Ellipse 40FD with 400 Cummins ISL and pulling a Ford Explorer with the dash air running I get 7.1 mpg on a good day at 63 mph. I have only recently begun to experiment with using the economy mode and I have some hopes but...

I envy the reports from others who report much higher mileage.

Rick

All the travelling has been towing my Ford Escape Hybrid......as far as Air Conditioning, I'd estimate 1/2 the driving has been with the dash AC on.

We have an 03 Revolution 38B with 350 Cummins towing a Honda Element. I leave the economy mode off unless we are in generally flat terrain and our mileage is always 7.5 to 8.0 mpg. I try to stay at 62 mph as a pretty constant speed using cruise control when ever possible. We also really watch our weight by removing unused cargo, keeping tanks as low as possible and not "tankering fuel" around. I also religously check tire pressures and keep them at the tire table pressure recommendation.

My '04 Tradition is very similar to your Rev and I get 8.0-8.3 mpg when cruising the interstates at 62-64 mph, but it fall rapdily to 7.3-7.6 in most any other kind of driving, e.g. around cities and towns.

When we bought the coach used in 2006, it had 24k miles and a lifetime fuel economy figure of 7.13 on the dash display. We've put 37,000 mostly highway cruising miles on it and now it's up to 7.58 mpg.

Yesterday we ran 150 miles on flat land in cool temperatures and got 8.3 mpg for the day. That's unusual - it is more often 7.6-8.0.

This our 3rd DP and we've never hit the magical 8.0 mpg mark, never. Towing makes little difference at 400+ HP unless you're going up some heavy duty grades?

I made a spread sheet in Excel that helps me keep a tab on my fuel mileage. Here in the South, we run the generator most of the time traveling to keep the two roof airs cooling the MH. Don't forget to deduct the .5 GPH the the Onan uses to provide the AC. Keep with this by the hours on the gen set.

Mileage will vary as I have seen 8.95 and low as 5.23. I usually have the toad attached.

End mileage - start mileage = total miles
End gen hours - start hours = total hours
Generator hours X .5 = fuel used by gen set
Fuel added - gen fuel = fuel used driving
Total miles / fuel used = MPG ( or close guestimate )

I have a 1998 coachmen santara with a 300 hp cummins. I have gotten anywhere from 9.0 mpg to 10.4 mpg. I tow a jeep liberty (3700 lbs) most of the time and usually drive 65 mph. Use cruse control on interstates and economy mode whenever possible.

The Santara is lighter than most Diesel Pushers uvw 20,300 lbs gvwr 24,850 lbs. I think the lighter weight and smaller engine makes a big difference. It does well in the Smokies and I have never had it in the Rockie Mountains. Don't even like to drive a car in the Rockies.

When I bought this coach, I talked to the previous owner. He said it pulled the grades in the Rockies better than his present coach (gvwr 35,000 lbs with a 350 hp cat).
