Need Advice: Dinghy Towing Equipment

Hello-

I have a 2008 Fleetwood Southwind on the Ford V-10 chassis and I want to tow a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I need to buy the towing equipment. My brother tows a Honda CRV with Roadmaster equipment. He uses the Falcon All Terrain 2 towbar. A guy in Wisconsin who towed a Jeep suggested I buy the Invisibrake.

Does anyone have any advice/opinion regarding:
-who is the best towing equipment manufacturer?
-what is the best equipment to purchase?
-who should I use to install the equipment on the Jeep?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Don't know if there is a best, think it's what makes you feel comfortable. We use a Blue Ox Aventa LX tow bar with a Blue Ox base plate. For braking we use the Patriot braking system (brake in a box), which people either seem to love or hate with no in between.

As far as who to install it, the maker of the tow equipment should have a list of companies that install their equipment. That's how we found the people to install ours.

As a suggestion, the first thing you might want to check is the towing capacity of your V10...it will be the lowest of:

- GCWR minus weight of MH when ready to travel (loaded).

- Hitch capacity.

- MH tow capacity.

- Chassis tow capacity...some times the last two are different.

Also, make sure your jeep is able to be towed 4 down. Not all jeeps can be towed 4 down. Our transmission has a SMALL button that needs to be pressed to disengage the transfer case.

We use all RoadMaster equip, but that is only because they have good equipment and they were about 20 miles from home. They've moved and are only about 15 miles away now.
Friend had Blue OX, but only because he was able to buy a rebuilt one cheap.
Personally I like the extra crossmember on the RoadMaster hitches as it adds strength.
I installed everything on our '97 Jeep GC but on the present '05 Ody RoadMaster gave me the brackets and installed it for free as they needed a test fitting "mule". Got lucky with that. I did install the wiring and brake setup myself.

All 2015 Jeep Wranglers, and I believe all Wranglers for that matter, can be towed 4 down, they all have the separate 4 wheel drive gear box that can be put into the neutral position.

To keep the chassis warranty Ford also requires supplemental braking if the item being towed weighs 1,500#'s or more so add that to your list.
Most manufacturers won't let you load the RV light and use the weight to be able to tow a heavier vehicle so check that too. Ford used to be one of them that wouldn't allow it. Maybe they've changed now?

Check your weights, see what you can pull. I use a Blue Ox Aventa LX tow bar, and Blue Base plates on both my toweds, but use a Roadmaster EvenBrake. I liked the BlueOx as nothing sticks out to bang your knees or shins on when you are not using it as a towed on either of my vehicles. I like the Roadmaster EvenBrake as it is portable and I can move it between both toweds depending on which one I want to take.
I don't think one is better than the other when it comes to bars and baseplates, all the manufactures do the samething, allow you to hook your towed up to your rig for towing. Braking is a different story, there are portable units, install and leave it hooked up all the time units, just depends on your needs. While some states do not require a brake, my conscience does.
