Need help with resealing the roof?

I am getting ready to reseal the roof on our 36’ Discovery with Liquid Roof. I was up on the roof last night and found two small areas that show signs of a crack/tear. Both are smaller than a 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” square. One area is just a bunch of small cracks. The other is one “larger” crack. Under the small cracks I don’t feel any wood damage, however under the other there seems to be a little soft/low spot in the underlayment (there are no signs of damage n the inside ceiling. So now I am not sure if I should cut that area out and try and repair the wood. The damage is only right under the crack, damage is maybe 1-1/2” long by 1/2”. Should I just cover these two areas with Eternabond tape and apply the liquid rubber over the tape? Or should I just roll the liquid rubber over all the cracks and let the product itself seal everything up. I am worried that if I open the roof up to repair that tiny area that I will actually create more of a problem then I am fixing? Also should I apply the Eternabond tape to the front and rear “Cap” seams (where the original rubber membrane roof meets the fiberglass front and rear caps) or just roll the Liquid Roof product right over this seam and call it sealed? What does everyone say?

FYI. I am planning on using the product from EPDMCoatings.com

Hi D-n-Tyke,
If it was me and based on the info in your post, I'd clean the damaged areas really good. Apply EternaBond over the damaged areas. I'd also use the EternaBond on the cap seam(s). Clean the area really well before applying the EternaBond. Remember, with EternaBond one gets one chance to apply it correctly. Consider snapping a chalk line where one edge of the EternaBond will go. The line can be used as a guide.

Thanks for the responses. The question I still have though is, is it okay to put the Liquid Roof over the Eternabond tape? The rest of the roof is black (white has chaulked off) so it needs to be redone. Just want to make sure I repair those cracks correctly first (if needed).

Should be ok to go over the Eternabond, but the liquid roof itself should seal the cracks too.

If the wood damage is as small as you say, I don't think I would bother with it.
