Something to consider if the heads make the engine too wide, would be to purchase an overhauled short block (Short block means it is an engine less heads, less intake manifold, and less water pump and other accesories). Then remove your heads before you separate the engine. Send the heads out to an overhaul shop, and get them re built. Continue reoving the engine.
When the new short block arrives, put it in first, and then install the overhauled heads, then mount your original intake manifold and install either the old accesories, or new, depending on your desire. It would be a shame to buy a long-block or complete engine and then have to tear apart the intake manifold and heads in order to get it through the side door. If you have to install these items seperately, save some money and hassel by ordering/overhauling them seperately.

Thanks this is what I was thinking just need the block and pistons. And I think I might upgrade camshat. it looks very tight right now. Need to get somethings out of the way to get a good measurement. Thanks again.

In the post I sent you with several engines and short blocks. There was one that was kind of a short block. This one had the block and crank, pistons ect but didn’t have the cam. I have gone back and you may not be able to use this one as it is marked for off road. You will have to make that determination for your self. This would let you save some money and do some useful upgrades. Whatever engine you go with I would change the cam. There is a big difference in cams most you see are for racing applications. These are totally useless for towing or in a motor home. You need a good high torque cam. There are other things you can do but money may not be in your budget. I don’t think aluminum heads would produce enough bang for the cost. I never saw how many miles you had on this engine.
I would look at some long tube headers to help your low-end torque when you can afford them and possibly upgrading your ignition.
Hear are a couple of links you might want to look at.

If you don’t have to many miles or the valves look to be in good condition, you could get away with just laping your valves and installing new seals and press on.
I think it is easy to set back and spend other people’s money. I try to make subjections as if I had to pay for the upgrades.

I think a long-block will fit through the door fairly easily on its side. When I had to have a 454 replaced many years ago, that is what the shop told me they did.

I would like to let everyone know that my radiator was plugged with fine hair. And my temperature gauge never indicated it was hot. It never boiled over. We have owned this RV for two years this March. It blew up last may. here is what I seen after I removed the a/c condenser / oil cooler.
