Hello just finished my first trip in a 1993 Fleetwood Class C. It was good. Lots of work to do. Inside of the RV is great with the exception of pretty much everything plastic needing to be replaced due to excessive heat while it was stored. Outside however we found out that a molding piece melted and allowed rain water to slide between two fiberglass pieces on each side. I'm not sure how much wood damage there is but just based on feeling the wood where it's separated from the fiberglass it maybe extreme. Not sure if I would have bought it had I realized this but now I'm stuck with it. I'll be scouring the threads for any advice on the situation.

Welcome, and best of luck getting things fixed. Maybe just sealing things up so no more water gets in may be sufficient.

OK fortunately you're in an arid climate so everything inside the wall should dry out pretty good. A bead of sealant (or a strip of Dicor tape) along the opening should help keep things from getting worse. Can you push on the paneling below the area where water came in to see if there is any movement - may give you an idea of how far down separation may have gone. Delamination is repairable but can get costly. As for your trim piece, is the one on the other side still OK (assuming it was same on both sides)? Gives you an idea what to look for as replacement. You say it 'melted'? Was it plastic or vinyl? Arizona RV Salvage in Phoenix is probably your closest salvage yard that might (or might not) have something. It's possible that molding was used over several years. Contact Fleetwood parts & service - they may still have some of it lying around although shipping from IN to AZ could be a challenge.

Outch,
Welcome to the IRV2.com FORUM(S).

When you first enter this group a new Member may feel a bit overwhelmed by all the forums you can find here. First, you need to set up your USER CP
Once you open and start a menu will open on the left side just take it all in the step-by-step top to bottom.

NEXT, you will find this forum is made op of 14-Forums broken into four-part forums. First is the HOME, top left above the member's menu. This forum is very helpful to new members to learn and become more familiar with overtime.

NEXT TO HOME is FORUMS on the top left covering Community, RV Lifestyles, Regional and RV Camping. and to the right of this is RV Forums.

RV FORUMS on the top left covers a lot about TRUCKS, Conversations, MVT's, HDT's, Travel Trailers/5th Wheel Chassis & TECH stuff, Chassis CLUB, RV SYSTEMS, Powertrain Garage.

Then you have the OWNERS FORUMS Covering Registry, A-M, and N-Z.

So welcome again, I hope you join in the fun and share your knowledge by helping new members find their way in this forum as you would in, any RV Park.
