New Member with a Question on fuel capacity
Greetings from Las Vegas!
I just bought a 1998 Fleetwood American Eagle 38A Diesel Pusher...for the life of me, I can't find out what the fuel capacity is? All other capacities are listed, just not fuel! I've checked online; at the Fleetwood and American Eagle sites to no avail...any info or pdf files would be appreciated!

You will like it here. I think you might be better off looking in the chassis forum area if you know what brand of chassis you have. Sorry, I don't know what chassis it is, but someone will.

I believe your diesel capacity is 100 gals, that's what my 95 is.

A 99 with dual fill holds 150 gal. Does your 98 have dual fills?
Check to see all recalls for the 98 model.

The brochure for the '99 38' Eagle TTF shows fuel capacity of 125 gallons...don't know about the '98.

I look at the capacities on tanks on an MH and, especially with fuel, I tend to try to measure it myself by running till it's almost empty then filling it. Reason being is that
1. There's a lot of variance sometimes for sales literature
2. Your particular sensitivity to "out of fuel" is different than others
3. In my case what I really want to know is when I'll be out of fuel

You can try lying on your creeper and rolling under the coach and most tanks have a metal tag attached to one end indicating the capacity. I found my fuel tank on my expedition is labeled that way.

When I bought my 04 Bounder DP from a friend I was told he belived I had an 80 gal tank. But, all the info I could find said 90 gallons for the year, make and model.
However, I was more concerned with "functional supply". So, I waited until my gauge was dead at 1/2 a tank and filled it. It took 43 gallons. That also gave me my "at the time" fuel mileage (9 gals/per mile). So, I am guessing the published info was right. But, I only count on 85 gals and carry a full 5 just in case!
One thing I have learned on this site from many is to never let the supply run too low! You never know where or when some unforeseen situation is going to arise and require you to "boondock" it somewhere for a short time. Like all those that were forced to spend the night off the highway to avoid some major traffic headache!
