Hi All,

I have found an extraordinary and simple upgrade to the original door striker on all Bounders and most other class A motorhomes.
I have found that leaving my Bounder through our doorway can be hazardous to my shirts if the shirt gets caught on the striker bolt. The bolt is made in a configuration that
includes a bolt head at the end that not only can tare your shirt but also cut your skin and cause you to fall off the steps, causing possible injury.
There is a website called Oemy's that shows DIY projects and the originators of
helpful inventions. The striker is a tapered, machined bolt that prevents catching and injuries.
The door striker upgrade is the first one on the list and can be purchased for
one penney and $6.00 shipping. I have seen these on Bounders before and just ordered
3 for a few of the BU Gold Country Roos club members. There is a way to pay a little more, through a donation on the website, please pay a couple of bucks more then asked for a great invention provided by two very good fellows.
You can find it at: http://www.oemysperformance.com/diyprojects2.htm#door

What a great little invention at a very low cost; engineered and machined by Max Hubrich
Thanks Max and thanks Dale Olson at Oemy's Performance,

Steve Bernard

Good idea. I ruined an almost new jacket on ours as well as several shirts and lost some skin also, more than once!!.

Cliff,
It's better to be armed than disarmed.

One of my biggest complaints on this RV is the Tri-mark locks on doors all over the place.. The striker bolts are cheap base metal and like to break, leaving you locked out (since they are spring loaded)

I've had a machinest carve me a couple out of steel that work very well. And I've done some work on one or two myself that seems to be holding (Machine them down a bit and put a steel "Shim" on the back) but those Tri-Mark strikers.. SUCK.
