Bill,

I think your gaining on it but you may need to remove "My Splitter". That may be what is causing the fuzzy picture.

Go to the 8-way splitter with the 1 input and 8 output connectors.
You say you have 4 coax are already affixed: RTV , MTV, ETX, and INC. Remove one of the TV coax and connect it to the Comcast "Big Box" output connection. I'm looking at my Comcast box and it say's Xfinity on the front and "To TV" on the back. That's the place you want to connect the MTV coax for example. The other port on the Xfinity box, "Cable In", connects to the same port on the 8-way splitter you removed the MTV coax from. Here's a pattern to follow:

8 way splitter -> Comcast big box (cable in)
Comcast big box (To TV) -> MTV Cable

At your coax connected to the mounted on the wall hook up the Comcast modem for internet only. There should be no other cable connected here.

Try that and let me know if your picture clears up.

steve, thanks for the help and staying with me, we now have cable tv and great reception. here's what resulted:
coax connector mounted in cab -> 3way splitter:
mysplittler out -> comcast modem Internet good
mysplitter out -> comcast big box cable in
mysplitter out -> comcast small box cable in
8-way splitter MTV -> comcast big box tv in: midship tv good
8-way splitter RTV -> comcast small box tv in: rear tv good

OMG what a week this has been, haha and my wife is now happy and so all is good in the kingdom haha. thanks to all for advice and steve for final help which now that I look at it, geez, should have nailed it in the first place.

Just now both comcast boxes are up in the cab above driver seat and so we now just have to aim remote up there to change stations, but that's better than no cable or cable with poor reception.

thanks again!!!
