No outside 110 outlet ? You've got to be kidding me?

We picked up a 2000 Southwind Storm last fall and we've been really happy with it.

But the one thing we can't get over is there's no outdoor 110 plug in. Waaat??

I keep hoping we've overlooked it but I don't think they put one on!!
Seems really bizarre to me but it does make for some good laughs at the campgrounds when DH's buddies razz him about it.

I would be thrilled to hear any of your input!

Older coaches do not have all the amenities newer ones do...
bet it's probably a 30 minute fix to add a marine outlet to an outside bin and tie into an existing outlet...

Welcome to irv2. My Bounder had a 110 outlet on the ceiling of one of the passenger side compartments. It also had a cable tv outlet. You have to bend down and look up to find it. Hooefully yours has one . I believe my service bay had one as well ( not sure)

Thanks! DH mentioned something about that because certain campgrounds don't have more than one plug in.

I guess why I posted is because curiosity has gotten the better of me and I'm wondering if this at all common and why wouldn't they have put an outlet for outside? Seems so strange to me.

Look in the ceiling inside all of the cargo bays, somewhere there should be at least one.

Interesting! We were hoping for something like this. We'll see. Our old '84 class C had one so I didn't really think it was an issue of age.
DH is pretty sure there isn't one since he's been in and under every spot in the unit but if there is one hopefully I'll be the one to find bc he'll never live it down. 🤣

Yeah we haven't checked thoroughly or at least I haven't
DH didn't think there would be one because there was nowhere for the cord to go with the storage door closed. Or is the idea that you leave the storage hatch open? We pull a long table right up to the motorhome as well as the picnic table so having to leave a hatch open would change things.

Anyhow, I will have a thorough look today and report back!

My Southwind (not a Storm) has a double outlet in the top (ceiling) of one of the basement compartments and an access cover in the bottom to pass a cord through. This basement compartment is directly below the outside fridge vent, which is above the inside breaker box. I have another one in the wet bay.

I don't think it's listed in my manual either so you may want to check the top of your basement compartments too. The access cover in the bottom was my clue to look up.

Looks like I type too slow........... good advice.

Always! And bonus points when he has to admit it to his friends

He drove our old '84 Class C for 2 years before it took me driving it 1 time to let him know that there was tilt steering! He had been making do and driving it like an old school bus lol.

Did you call FW customer service and ask if there is supposed to be one? They might even be able to send you the schematic of how the circuits are laid out.
They have been very helpful to most.
Best to have your vin available when you call.
