No running or clearance lights?
1990.5 Bounder on Ford Chassis. Hooked up trailer for ATV's last weekend and started checking lights. Blinkers, brakes, headlights all fine. No clearance or running lights or emergency flashers. Unhooked trailer - still the same. Checked fuses under dash - all good. Accidentally left emergency flasher switch on and came out to an almost dead battery the next morning. I'm not aware of any other fuses or relays, but something is amiss. Any ideas?

Does your dash lights work?? side markers?? actual tail light (not the clearance)
Some rigs had a crtsy (courtesy) light switch used to blink the clearance lights for the "thank you" when someone flashes there lights to say its ok to pull back in the lane. That switch sometimes goes bad and sticks on the off position but doubt it would cause the flashers not to work.
Given all that its probably going to be the multi function switch or your headlight switch
Oh I love your quote, keep the oldies running!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know whether dash lights were working or not. But no lights at all on outside of vehicle when I pull light switch on other then headlights. So no tail lights. But the tail lights blink when i turn on a blinker, and they light up when I step on the brake. But emergency flashers don't work. Yet left "on", it drained my battery. Weird.

Double check your fuses, I willing to bet your dash lights do not work, a safety feature to let you know you have a problem.
Other than that headlight switch (easier and cheaper) if not that then the multi function switch

Further checking indicates I don't have dash lights either. So does this mean probable cause is actual light switch? And if so, where do I find one?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Probably will be the switch if it aint the fuse, its going to be a headlight switch for whatever chassis its on, should be able to get at napa
Chassis will be something like Chevy P-30 Ford F-53

Fuses appear to be okay. It's the Ford chassis (F-53?). The light switch is rather funky looking - it appears to have a cast casing sticking out an inch or more that flushes up against dash - it doesn't move or anything - and then the actual switch you pull comes out of it. Don't know if it's something special or what.

I don't remember for sure about early Ford chassis, but the 1998 and later chassis had a second fuse block under the hood. The location was usually by the radiator. The headlight fuses and other light fuses were here.

Yes, there is another fuse block up front - I don't recall running lights being up there, but I best go double check just to be sure.

Back in the 70's and at least with Ford trucks, if a taillight was out, none of the others worked either. You don't suppose that would still be the case in 1990?
