The upper windshield fans in my Revolution sound like chain saws. They are not defective, just incredibly noisy. It's unpleasant to drive with them running. Is there a quieter alternative? Thanks.

I'm not trying to be smart..., but so far, the only things I've found that helped were the off switch, and the lower of the two speeds. Still too much noise, unless on the highway at 55. Then, can't hear the fans.

It's the nature of the fan design. From what I have seen in looking at many coaches one company must make all the fans for all mfg. Mignt look for a better made fan and replace. Our fans are noisy but we mostley use in low speed and it helps.

Turned mine on once when it was new to make sure they worked and never again. If they weren't so noisy what good are they anyway.

I have torn mine apart, replaced the motor, and experimented with turning the squirrel cage backwards. Nothing seems to have reduced the noise. The only other thing I can think of is to wrap some form of insulation around it to deaden the noise. I hope this helps.

Our original ones were horribly noisy. They sounded like a jet engine was taking off. 1 quit & it was replaced with a much quieter one while still under warranty. I couldn't stand the difference between the 2, so my next service, I had the other noisy one replaced. Much better. Next time I'm at the coach I'll take a look & see if I can find a make/model.

Lori, it sounds like everyone would like to know the secret source of quieter fans. No pressure, but we can't wait to hear back! Frankly, like the other posters I doubt they will ever get much use, except for de-fogging after winter camping when the rig is full of moisture from the propane heat. Thanks in advance.

I like mine, worked well to help defog the wind shield in muggy conditions and didn't want to have the a/c on. helps with air circulation on hot days by turning them toward the interior of the coach. After 45 years around jet engines and running them on low, noise is not a problem.
