Older Bounders
I own a 1988 Bounder and I was wondering if anyone had any idea`s on how to clean the outside with any luck? The outside skin is mostly covered in Vinyl and fiber glass with very little metal. I'm not sure if they make a good Vinyl cleaner to restore it. I`d appreciate it if anyone has any ideas.

You might try Boat Scrub from Aurora. I've got a friend with a boat that swears by this stuff. Many of the vinyl cleaners I've dealt with are pretty harsh & might do more harm than good for you.
You could also post your question in the Vintage RV's Forum. Those members with similarly aged rv's might have ideas for you on what they clean theirs with.

On my 90 Bounder I used a 3M Fiberglass cleaner, then a 3M wax using a buffer. It always cleaned up nice!
Hope this helps!

It's fiberglass, not vinyl (except perhaps for the decals) and the 3M polish mentioned above (or similar boat polishes designed for oxidized fiberglass) should help.

Gary: Both sides are vinyl only the front and rear are fiberglass. But I will try the cleaners that has been suggested. I thank you all for your help. Vman60

vman60, I believe what you are describing is really Fiberglass laminate and not vinyl. The sides do appear different than the nose and end caps, which appear or seem to be smoother as fiberglass should. My 90 was the same way, I believe it is due to the gel coating wearing away. While the 3M products always did a nice job it had to be constantly maintained because it would never last.
The only thing that is vinyl would be the decals,
I hope this helps,,,,

Just to add my 2 cents - the coach is made of fibergass panels, then PAINTED. One does not polish the fiberglass, one polishes the paint. When I hear some snake oil salesman selling fiberglass polish, I depart quickly.
Most cars are made of steel, then painted. You don't see STEEL polish being sold, do you? You are polishing the paint, right, not the steel!
