We are researching now for our 1st mh and its seems the fleetwoods fit our needs and budget. What I am wondering is the outside kitchen worth the money and loss of basement space?

Its a personal preference, in my opinion. We would never sacrifice our washer/dryer for storage space and there are those that don't mind washing their clothes where who knows what has been washed just to have a few cubic feet of storage.

Will you use it? If so you may regret not getting it. I carry a Weber Q200 gas grill, a two burner Coleman gas stove and a 20# bottle of propane. I rarely use the Coleman stove but its so small it hardly takes up any space.

For an outside kitchen to be of real use it must be without rain, wind, mosquitoes or any of a million other irritants. But they do look good in the showroom.

Just my opinion formed on the back of experience.

Howdy and welcome to the forum! As others have said, you probably know the answer to this better than anyone. Do you believe you will use it? Speaking personally, I'd give it a big "no." (But then, I didn't want the outside entertainment stuff, either. I'd rather watch TV inside on the sofa.)

I have the outside kitchen and I must say its a nice option to have can use it for barbeque wash some dishes or your hands so you don't have to go inside just wash your hands and it's also nice to have the small refrigerator to keep some could drinks, I have two little ones and it can be a pain if I would have to go inside every time that they need a drink or wash they're hands, but each to they're own I guess. Our previous MH was a Providence and it had the O/S kitchen. I like the fridge, but the grill was a pain to clean and re-pack it all back up after using.
I starting using my small portable grill and never fired the coach's grill back up....
I thought about removing it all and use the space for storage, but elected to sell the coach and upgrade.
Let me ad that the Providence was a very good motorhome!!

I would not have an O/S kitchen or an outside TV and immediately ruled out any units we looked at with either of those options. Most reasons for not having one have been mentioned, one of the most important is the loss of basement storage space.

We have a 2008 Discovery with the outdoor kitchen and use it tons. On our 3rd grille DW wants a bigger coach and we can't find another model with the same, dragging my feet on trading because of it. She will probably win out so I'll probably wind up using a pull out slide and make something but won't be as nice as the built-in that Fleetwood designed. So many people have made comments on it, can't believe Fleetwood did away with the option.

As far as lost space is concerned the hanging compartments under the slides have plenty of cargo space. We full time and have room to spare.

This is the only option we didn't get on our Discovery. Do not miss it. Grill out almost every night when weather allows in our travels. Did hook up a quick connect to the on board propane tank and use it with a portable grill. Have a cooler outside anyway that we use when grilling and when out for the day taking lunch or grocery shopping. Haven't missed that but think we'd miss the storage when traveling with friends. Just our opinion - nothing wrong with having the option at all. Just found a way around it.

We have a 06 Providence 39L with the OS kitchen. We use it a lot. Seems to have plenty of storage and we get by just fine.

We also have the outside kitchen. I didn't think I would like it when we started, but have since changed my mind.

There is a gas hookup behind the slide for easy hookups and take the gas grill and give it away if you can. Go buy a Weber 200 and connect the old hose from the original grill to give you more room and maneuverability. The stainless counter top is great place for a griddle or a work station.

As far as I'm concerned. IT'S A MUST HAVE!

I always wondered how do the out side sinks drain? Do they drain into a bucket or is there a pump?

Our 09 Providence had the outside kitchen and we miss it on our 2011 Rev. Tried to talk AC into installing one but to no avail.
Yes, there is a pump to allow emptying of the sink.
