Has anyone put one of those small portable electric fire places in their coach over the winter for that extra ambience?
Wife is asking if she can do it, I"m not a big fan myself of a small electric fireplace inside the coach.

Funny you should ask! I just got done making a "hearth" for ours that goes over the engine shroud between the front seats. We got our fireplace from Lowe's for about $80.00. When traveling we put the fireplace in the bedroom and the hearth will store under the couch. We will be trying it out for the first time this week.

I think you will enjoy the fireplace, our 2000 coach came with one, when we looked at the coach wife saw fireplace and said this is the one I want. The rest is history--LOL

Mothership,
Lovely wife wants to know if you have a picture of that set-up. Does this smell like a wood working project in my future?

I purchased one when I purchased my vintage coach.I took out one chair tiled the hearth and sat the fireplace on it.I love it,I can run it with or without heat.It provides enough heat to heat the coach and looks awesome. Hugs Peabody

Well we hauled that puppy into the coach this past weekend and took off. Boy did it make the place toasty warm when we used it. Placed it up against a wall that's visible after the slide is out and it looked great.
Definitely a great idea and saves the propane for better things like Pizza, Hot Cocoa, Fried Rice and Lumpia!
Everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We are leaving on the 11th of Dec to spend 11 days at Fort Wilderness at Disney World. I'll take a picture then and post it. Right now I'm in Washington, D.C. on business and won't be back until the 10th of Dec.
It's cold up here. This is not FL weather!

We put a portable fireplace in last year for our snowbird trip to West Central Fl. Worked great for the occassional cold nights & when the heat was not needed the fake flame is a nice touch, never used the coach furnace all season. When traveling it is easily placed in space under table beetween cabinets. The other nice feature is that the top of the stove is cool to the touch & the stove top can be used to display, flowers/photos. Some photos were taken before/after modifications. I have since added a few area rugs/hearth to enhance appearance(not in these photos).
