Angry power gear electric jacks water problem

I have an 08 bounder 36D and have had three failures of the electric jacks sue to water in motor head. Has anyone come up with cure for keeping water out of the electric motor heads. they have been sealed with silicone and that has not prevented water penetration. There must be some type of protective cover for the jack heads but I have not been able to find anything as yet-any suggestions-Bill

Hi Bill and welcome to iRV2! I believe that issue was covered in this lengthy discussion thread... http://www.irv2.com/forums/f107/powe...lem-53137.html

We have hydraulic jacks so I don't have any pearls of wisdom. Hopefully someone with the electric jacks will chime in. Good luck.

If you go to. The link Cliff posted in your other thread and I realize there are 50+ pages of comments in this thread but it has been a learning thread for all of us with power gear jacks and I can say if you scroll through the 50+ pages you will find everything you need to fix your powergear jacks for good. If you do a search under my log on name I put up a post with all the links to powergear info on repairs breakdown of parts, resetting the control panel and certain do's and dont's I also posted how to disassemble the brake unit and repair and reassemble and how I used this Performix Brand 11-oz. Plasti Dip Black Rubber Coating Spray-11203-6 at The Home Depotat The Home Depot and sprayed the motor and boot assembly the entire top of the gear box and any area that might possibly let water in and they have been flawless ever since. But do yourself a favor and read the 50+ pages
