Power Gear electric levelers

I am currently replacing both rear leveling brakes because of water damage for the second time. Both boots were damaged from debris and water thrown up from the rear tires.

Does anyone have a solution to protect the boots from the rear tires? Has anyone made a shield of some sort to protect the rubber boots.

I fought my electric levelers for a couple years, I removed, took apart, cleaned and sprayed them with flex seal.

Finaly I took 2-4" hard plastic garden border pieces and attached them to the existing mud flap (not wide enough to knock down the spray from inside tire).

I then cut a plastic Folgers coffee thing in half (one for each side), attached to the garden edging with nuts/bolts and it fit perfectly around the electric motor.

This was over 5 years ago and have not had a problem since.

After losing the battle with the leveling jacks (broke a shear pin) I took the rig to Cummings Bridgeway in Wixom. I asked them to craft a guard for the rear jack motors and of course to get the damn things working again.

The techs did a great job of modifying a big rig mudguard to shield the rear jacks from the inside tire. With luck I should not have to replace the motor brakes again next year.

Does anyone know how to cycle the brake off the coach to see if it still works? I have two leftover used ones I would like to check.
