I'm with you. The only problem I've had with my mh has been the jacks. Replaced two jacks and the controller under warranty and have since replaced one of the jacks that had been replaced under warranty. Oh, and the new and improved boot...PG has replaced the plastic wire tie with a metal strap. Wow!!!

what brand or type of silicon are you guys using to seal the new boots on those power gear jacks? I just recently had two jacks and all four boots replaced, but no silicon was used to finish the seal...

I don't recall the brand but it was in a small squeeze "tube" that I found easier to use than a tube that needrd to be applied with a chaulking gun. I purchased it at Lowes.

I just got my 2007 Bounder out of the shop. Needed a new PowerGear motor, 4 boots and a control box for the PowerGear. Cost $2100. Only have 8000 miles on the coach but is is out of warranty. No more PowerGear for me.

Our Georgetown, made by Forest River, has Lippert hydraulic jacks and slides. One of our jacks was leaking when we bought it, then a year later, the other front jack started leaking. Forest river replaced both. That was over a year ago and some 9000 miles on it.

I've been thinking the same thing. Mine was replaced under warranty when they replaced one of the jacks. Seems to be a fairly common practice to replace it. I wonder what the justification is.
Maybe a call to Fleetwood technical support could shed some light on this(?).

Dealer said it was bad. It seems to me that a lot of people have problems with their jacks.

My 08 Providence has PowerGear with "auto" leveling. I am having some problems that seem to be caused by low fluid level. I can't for the life of me find where I'm supposed to ad transmission fluid. Do any of you fleetwood owners know?
Thanks
Ed

My 07 Bounder has electric jacks. You might want to check you manual. I believe my slide is Power Gear also. I looks like they cut many corners. I believe my slide moter is under powered. I love my Bounder but it looks like the Power Gear junk is going to continually be a problem.

Read your Power gear manual carefully. All info is there, or go to their web site. Robbie

I have a 2008 36' Southwind (Fleetwood) M/H that is still under warranty. the jacks have a two year warranty, i'm fairly confident that neither Fleetwood nor Power Gear will authorize the other 3 jacks to be replaced under warranty. the one jack has to be replaced, but just can't get past the "if it's not broke" mentally for the other 3, unless warranty would cover it.
does anyone know of this problem with this brand of power jacks? could use some input before I have to order a replacement or go ahead and OK a full set of jacks.

It the jack breaks are rusted contact power gear they have been sending out new brake kits at no charge no reason to change complete jack.

How do you contact PowerGear? They show no Phone Number on their site. Warranty info indicates it must be done through a dealer.
