loulong is right, Low fluid level! My resevoir is located just in front of right wheel opening. As a suggestion just add about 1/2 cup of fluid at a time until warning goes out. I have to put mine in with a turkey bastor(hard to get to) If you put too much in your warning system will go off before they are all the way up! Too little will not float the switch inside canister which shuts warning off. Hope this helps.

Bama Fan is right. Just make sure you have your jacks all the way up before you add fluid. If you get too much fluid in the reservoir it might blow the excess out and make a big mess.

Norjo672:

PowerGear specs say that the fluid level in the reservoir should be maintained at the top such that, when the legs are fully retracted, you should be able to stick your pinkie in the reservoir opening and get it wet. I recommend that you buy a gallon of hydraulic fluid and keep it in your motor home. I tried a turkey baster and a battery bulb for filling, but I came across a funnel at the local autoparts store that had a long, flexible clear 3/4" tube. Less than $10 and it really did the trick. Couple of notes: it's a 2 person job to top up the reservoir; you do NOT want to use your funnel or baster or bulb for anything else.

Just because the alarm is turned off early when the levelers are retracted does not mean they stop coming up. The springs are what retracts the levelers, and the system will keep the valves open (so this can occur) until you turn the system OFF. The fact that the alarm was stopped has nothing to do with WHEN and IF the jacks come all the way up.

Filling the reservoir up to the overflow, with the jacks fully retracted, is recommended by Power Gear, and the proper procedure.

BTW - the system is vented so any excess fluid will be forced out the first time the jacks are used. May cause a mess, but no harm to the system will occur.
