Power Gear Mirror Adjustment keypad

I was screwing in the driver side pillar on my 2002 American Eagle and I nicked a wire with a screw. I noticed it when I turned on the ignition and I heard a relay clicking on my Power Gear control panel for my mirrors. I found several wires nicked and taped them off to make sure none shorted out. Now my Driver side mirror doesn't work. If I manually push the mirror all the way up, when I turn on the ignition it automatically goes completely down and the up, down, in, out doesn't work. The heat and passenger side work OK. Did I possibly damage the control panel?

Possibly the control panel was damaged by the temporary short but most likely you accidently unplugged the mirror wires in another place while you were taping the damaged area. Mirrors usually have connectors at the juncture where the extension arm attaches to the MH and another set where the arm is fitted to the mirror.

Mine appears to be hardwired at the pillar and then the plug connections are under the control panel. I will spend some additional time tracing the wire loom from the mirror to the panel and see if I can meter for any opens or shorts. Thanks for the suggestion...

New control panel fixed it. Now to see if I can get the old one repaired.
