Problem with leveling system - Discovery

Have an 05 Discovery 39J and having trouble with the landing gear beeping even though it is up. I have cleaned off the shafts and they are retracting fully. However at least one of the indicator lights stays on most no matter what I do. After doing a visual inspection I move the coach but the system starts beeping. Don't know what to do...

Have you checked the hydraulic oil level? Mine does that, when it is low.

I agree you need to check the hydraulic fluid in the pump. I have to add some to mine every 4 months or so. I have a small drip coming from the pump.

Sounds 'zactly like mine - gets a bit low on fluid and causes cussin & fussin till I add fluid, as noted above.

So you know.. There are both electric jacks and hydraulic.. I do not know much about the electric systems so won't comment about them

In the hydraulic there are several manufactures but the two biggies are HWH and Power Gear.. HWH has sensors (Magnetic switches I think) on each jack,, These normally work well.. POWER GEAR, however.. Is what I have.

Power Gear Hydraulics there is a tank attached to the pump. Inside the tank is a float valve and switch.. IF the tank is full then the jacks must be up and the alarm is silenced.. If the fluid level is low. BEEP BEEP BEEP.

Now the problem.. Fluid and steel expand and contract at different rates as the weather gets hotter and colder.

So if it's January 30'th in Michigan.. You need to add fluid

if it's August 15th in Arizonia.. It's going to over flow. and then when you return to Michigan in January.. You'll need to add more fluid.
