On my 83 Pace Arrow I got it filled today and it took 16.4 gallon, and I thought it was about half full, how many gallon should it take and how long will it last during normal use. Meaning only turning it on when it use, and not trying to keep the water hot before I needed it.

I don't trust the gauge on the dash, and not sure how you really read the glass gauge on the tank.

As I remember on my 83,it was a 25 gallon tank, which means it will hold 20. Unless you are useing the furnace, a full tank would last several months, even leaving the hot water heater on.

Thanks never used it yet, so we have no bench marks, but having and enjoying vintage travel travel we have alwayed never ran propane except when it was being used, to first prevent fire and then to preserve it to make it last as long as possible, thank for your feed back,

We have a pace. most of the older paces did have 20 gal tanks. When we go out west for two months we do not run out or have to refill. So you should have enough for 8 1 week trips or 4 2week trips with some left over.

I'd say your tank was empty, or very nearly so. It holds 80% as much propane as it would water, thus a 25 gal tank holds 20 gal of LP. It is full at roughly the 3/4 mark on the gauge on the tank. Lower readings, however, are increasingly inaccurate and at 1/4 tank on the gauge it could be off substantially.

OK, so I guess I have a 20 gallon tank, then if that is the case the glass gage on the tank was also not correct, again unless I I still don't know how to read it.

thanks for the feed back
