Hi,
we have a 98 Pace Arrow Vision where the front TV is at the dash level but can be raised. Are the hydraulic supports supposed to support the TV when it's elevated? Ours don't and the RV (bought used) came with a wooden stand that you put under the TV when you raise it - it works but it's kind of a pain to use so I'm just wondering if this is how they are designed or if I supports are just too worn and the last owner decided to use the wooden support rather than replace them.

Let us know. Thanks,
Mike

Don't know about the Pace but the lifts in a Fleetwood American Coach support the tv without any assist. I suspect your hydraulic mechanism has a leak and lets the hydraulic ram sink once the pump shuts off.

Mine has Gas Shocks that you can replace. There should be a label on the Shock that gives model number and pounds. This is the company that I'm going buy the ones I need for the cabinet that is over the TV. McMasterCarr.com also has a large supply of these in different configurations.

Thank you for all the info. I'll look at getting new shocks for it (figured that was probably the issue - just wasn't 100% sure if they were intended to support the weight of the TV to begin with (or maybe I'll just this as an excuse to replace the front CRT with a much lighter LCD flat panel and then the old shocks might be ok!!!)).
