Removing Window Valance

I need to repair a day/night shade on my 2010 Bounder 35H. To remove the shade, do I need to remove the valance? If yes, how do you remove the valance? Visually, I don't see how it is attached to the wall or the cabinet above it. To restring the shade looks simple. Removing the shade looks like the challenging part. Any help on this is appreciated.

The shade can be removed without taking off the valance. The day/ night shade is screwed into the valance. Separate the pleats and you will see about three screws. The valance for future reference is attached to the ceiling ( you'll see that when you take the shade off ) , there is also a screw on each side that goes thru the valance material into the wall at the bottom of each side. You'll have to feel around for those.
Hope this helps.

Yup !!! ... and you will probably find the screws are on the back side of the shade ... i.e., the edge of the shade closest to the window.

Found Them

Thanks. I located the screws on the bottom of the valance. I did locate one screw so far on the top of the shade. The info I got from Fleetwood showed the day/night shade snapped into brackets that were attached to the side wall. Looks like they sent me bad info.

When I have repaired our shades, I have removed the two screws from the plastic parts holding the strings, and been able to get the shade out at an angle without completely removing it. It depends how much access you need to repair the shade.

A small battery powered screw driver is a big help.

Another option to an electric screwdriver is a 24 inch Phillips screwdriver from Lowes.

Shades

Best tool I got for tis job was a 24" long Phillips head screw driver" makes the job a lot easier. Plus the screws.at least on my coach. Are on the wrong (window) side of the shade. Royal pain. When i replace them I move the screws to the inside...or valance side. Easily done. Also found it important to circle the old holes with a magic marker so you can find them easier during the painful reinstall.

I bought the screwdriver from Lowe's. So now I struggle to take it out and repair. I do like the idea to move the screws to the valance side for easier removal in the future.
