[On my 83 Pace Arrow] OK, after trying to troubleshoot the short problem [the wire is blowing my fuse and over heating but has not yet burnt] I have not been able to trace the wire the entire length and to the final point of connection, so I was thinking it would be easier and better to replace the entire wire, but that being said, not knowing where under the dash that power wire connect to, leave me with a problem.

It is a black wire [from the positive post of my battery],that power my radio, windshield wipers and heater control module, at least those are the only items I have discovered so far, does anyone know where I would have to run this wire under the dash to reconnect the power to these items, I thought it would go to the fuse pane under the driver dash, but I can not attempt to remove it being so much extra wires have been added, I am sure to create a even bigger problem, so I am seeking your help in alliterative way to rewire these dash time with the lest efforts.

I was thinking in the worst case scenario I wold run a new wire and then with jumper wire ruining to the fuse connection [at the left side of each fuse slot on the front side of the fuse panel] to each of these fuses powering that fuse up, and in return powering all of the items I have lost do to that short.

If I am unable to make this repair my self I will be force to take it to my local mechanic and fall prey to them over charging me for that repair, so I would really prefer doing it myself, so all thoughts and idea are all most welcomed.

Everything comes from some place and the stated "wire gets hot" is very much of concern! The first step is finding out what the cause is and the best way is to start with a VOM or amp tester and check ampere draw.
Depending on which type of fuse is involved a Fuse Buddy may be sufficient Amazon.com: ESI 306B 30 Amp Fuse Buddy ATC Tester: Automotive (Harbor Freight currently has these). Check the draw of each fused (ATC?) individual item and then test the over all circuit/feed in to the fuse panel. Check the wire diameter (one of my suspensions) is it too small for what it is feeding DC Wire Table
You can of course run a new wire but you must disconnect the old one or you may still have a short some place.
