Revolution Grab Handle

Just an FYI on replacing the outside entry illuminated grab handle. I contacted the original manufacturer, ITC and they advised that it is a model 86430-CR/CL and the price is US$60.76 each, + freight. I purchased one which was a special order and is an exact fit. It took about two weeks to make and deliver it. Mine is 19 3/4" long. This is a discontinued item but they will still build one for you. Great service!

American Coach lists the replacement as being a different size which requires new holes plus plugs for the original holes.

My coach is a 2003 model 40C

Good info, Hypoxia.

So, the original handle is illuminated?

Yes, it lights up with the porch light. If yours doesn't work the LED is probably burned out & is repairable.

Here is the link for a replacement light. I bought a bag of bright LED's from Radioshack & replaced it with a resistor in line on my old handle.

This explains why the handle was clear. I wondered about that but didn't think about it lighting up.

Really appreciate the lead on a replacement LED.

The light isn't working on our 2005 Revolution so I was really interested when I saw this post. How do you put a new light in and do we need to buy the whole light with pigtail as shown on the Product link or just the LED bulbs?

Wired mine and installed LEDs on my discovery! The handle lower mount just happened to be even with pass seat side consol with fan switch that i robbed power. Stays on 24/7 but LEDs draw so little.

Take the handle off of the coach, wiggle the bottom metal piece & pull it iff of the plastic handle & you will see the light inside. Two screws to remove & pull it out. Your choice on replacing the light assy or experimenting with an LED replacement using the existing resistor.

I have the handle removed, difficult time getting the screws out due to rust. Now, the plastic piece on bottom won't budge and I'm afraid of breaking the plastic or the metal. Any suggestions?

Does it have wires comingout of it? If not it must not be illuminated, if so & you still haven't had success call or email ITC, they are very quick to respond and very helpful.

It does have wires in it so it will illuminate if fixed. I stopped when I couldn't budge the bottom metal like piece off. It's not like a sturdy metal and I was afraid of breaking it. I will get in touch ITC and see what can be done. Thank you for the info!! At least the project has started! This coach is 10 y/o and there are lots of projects but it is a beautiful RV and we've just had it a month now. This forum is a great resource to go to when I have questions.
