ripped slide topper fabric

about 4" rip from wind in our slide topper; any suggestions for repair?
anyone familiar with the tape sold at Camping World?
would gorilla tape hold up in summer sun?

I used some tape that was basically clear. I think I bought it at Camping World.....I know it was made for the purpose of reparing awning/topper rip. I had about a 4" rip, and stuck it down on top and wrapped it around the ege and then stuck it to the bottom. Worked great. lasted for a looooooooooooong time. As I remeber, it was about 3 inches wide or so.
