RV absorption fridges have TWO evaporators
Low temp evap.......freezer section
High temp evap.....food section
0*F to -5*F in freezer and 33*F to 38*F in food section.........
What do you think is wrong with those temps?????
Those temps are as good as it gets ------OEM specs
ONE cooling unit.....same coolant solution (Ammonia, Hydrogen gas, Sodium Chromate and water)
TWO heat sources......propane flame and a electric element
No 'main unit'....no secondary unit......just the one cooling unit
When fridge has been operated off level......overheating can occur. That causes the sodium chromate to crystallize which plates out causing an obstruction. which can cause more overheating, more crystallization, more plating out, more obstructions until a blockage occurs .
Symptoms.......freezer section working but food compartment temps 50*F or higher
That is a blockage that requires replacement of the cooling unit (as does a cracked perk tube where element holder is welded in place....stress crack and coolant leaks out----yellow residue around burner area)
