Recently we have had a problem with our 2004 Fleetwood Revolution stalling while we are driving. when we get it started again it will not go over 25 miles an hour and it feels like it going to stall out.

On May 30th 2011 coming back from Orlando Florida we were driving about 70 miles per hour when the RV just stalled out we got it pulled over safely. I went and got about a gallons worth of fuel took off the fuel filter filled it back up and tried to start it. we got it started and it ran for about a half a mile and stalled out again. repeated the same process the fuel filter did not have any fuel in it. finally after 2 hours had it towed about two miles from home. wrecker would not have fit in neighborhood. repeat the same process to get it home and it start to work again. Does anybody know why this would happen.

PS About a month prior to our trip. For the first time we joined Good Sam's roadside assistance. It was the best thing we ever did. I recommend this to everyone. I don't know what we would have done if we didn't have it.

You didn't recently have to change a fuel cap, did you? If so you may have put on a non-vented cap, and may be sucking a vacuum on the fuel tank. Believe me, these fuel pumps have a LOT of power. Been there, done that. Your coach may have a separate vent line for the tank and this might be plugged. Might try running the running the coach without a fuel cap.

Your lift (fuel) pump may also be going out. Look for any kinks or crimping in the fuel lines.

Hope you find a solution, and hope it's not the lift pump.

Kerry

Sounds strikingly similar to the ever-famous Ford fuel pump problem. By any chance is it a Ford chassis? Your symptoms are very similar to the Ford fuel pump symptoms. Been there, done that, wrote the check (choke, gasp)

If it is a fuel pump replace it with an external one and the check won't have to be as big.
