Scalding Hot Water

Happy Holidays
We have a 2014 Bounder 33c. The hot water has always been way to hot. Over time it seemed to get a little less hot, but stll too hot. I just changed the pressure relief valve and now the hot water is back to scalding. Very Dangerous. Has anyone had the same problem and is there anyway to adjust the waterheater temp.
Thanks to all and have a Happy New Year.

Our Atwood 10g heaterin ourBounder ‘had’ a mixing valve on the back that would take 150+- degree water and reduce it to 115+-. It was an attempt to make the 10 gallon wh perform more like a larger heater. It may have had an adjustment on it. I say ‘may’ because we removed the mixing valve to solve a water pressure issue. Just have to be careful and ‘manually mix’ it at the faucet.

Both our MH's were set up with high temperature thermostats to get maximum usable hot water. Just get used to turning on the cold first then add hot. Works well that way.

I saw a kit that was used to adjust the temperature, I see if I can find a link.

Ok here one

I installed one of the adjustable thermostats. It works well and I am glad I made the change.

The pre-set thermostats (from the factory) can produce water that is very hot. This is to get the most use out of a small volume of water (6-10 gallons). In my case, the pre-set thermostat gave me water that was so hot it was unsafe.

These adjustable thermostats are easy to install and easily adjustable with a small straight blade scewdriver. It's a shame RV manufacturers don't spend a few bucks more to make these standard equipment.

We had the same issue with our Bounder when we got it. Our issue was primarily with the shower being to hot. I installed the adjustable thermostat and it worked for a while. After the failure of the adjustable tstat I installed a thermostatically controlled shower valve. Best mod ever. We set the water temp, turn it on and in 10 seconds it is at the desired temp and stays there. The valve is $43 on Amazon.

We installed the adjustable thermostat about a year and a half ago and it has solved our too hot water problem and has been working just fine. Chuck
