Sealand Vacuum Toilet problem

Set up camp at RV park Saturday. Toilets worked fine until 30 minutes ago. Flushed the toilet holding the foot pedal down until the count of 5. Sounded like a normal flush except vacuum pump does not cut off and red light remains on. I waited 5 minutes before cutting off the power.

After waiting 20 minutes, I turned on power and the pump started with a red light. I stepped on the pedal and the water does not go down.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

One of two possibilities/A flapper valve in the vacuum generator is jammed or the pressure switch on the vacuum generator tank is acting up. If you have more than one toilet fill the bowl on the other toilet and flush it. Than may dislodge whatever is clogging the flapper valve if that is the problem.

If the pump is running and no vacuum, the switchs are not the problem. The switch's shut down the pump when vacuum is built up.

When they fail, the pump keeps running but there is vacuum or it doesn't run at all.

There are 4 joker ( 1 way) valves in the pump. Two on the intake and two on the discharge side.

It's rare that all 4 will fail at once and create no vacuum. When they start to fail the pump cycle gets longer but still builds vacuum. Maybe not enough to shut off the pump but it still builds some suction.

A blockage in the line before the pump would stop the water from flushing but again the pump would build vacuum and shut off.

That leaves a few things. A full black tank or blocked line on the discharge line to the black tank.

Last but not least, the dipharam in the pump can crack and fail. In that case, waste water will be leaking from the pump housing. It will run but create no vacuum.

I have been full timing with a 2 toilet, 1986 vacuflush system since 2008. I have experienced all of the problems they have.

Hope this helps.
