Shore Power issue

Hi, I have a 1998 Fleetwood Bounder. The MH will not recognize shore power now. When using the Gen Set all is fine transfer switch clicks in. Neither the shore power or the inverter will kick in.
does anyone know the location of the transfer switch?

Generally close to your circuit panel so they don't have to run as much wire.

Welcome to irv2.
Follow the shore power cable to TS, open cover with power off and tighten the screws were that power cable terminates in box and while your at it check the other wire terminations also.
Be careful of not crossing the circuit board in TS with screwdriver.

Don't overlook the possibility , of a problem in your power cord, or at the plug in if your always in the same place.
Lot of testing to be done before you start throwing expensive parts at this problem.

If your breaker box is below the refrigerator. You probably will need to remove the breaker box to get to the transfer box behind it.
At least that is where the put them on some fleetwoods.

Never seen a transfer switch in the area of the breaker box. The TS is always at the shore cord hook-up.

Then you have never had/seen wiring in a Fleetwood Discovery. That is where they put them back in the late 90's and early 2000 models.

Since the OP had a 98 Fleetwood model. There is possibility that is where they put the TS on that model also.

In the same area of the breaker box for house 120V & 12V is also the EMS, water pump latch relay and AC/Heat control box.

Only thing near the shore cord hook-up is the Inverter/Charger and the BCC box in my Fleetwood made MH.

I just had my breaker box out last week doing some wire changing for the front AC. In Oct. changing out the 13.5K for a 15K Heat pump. I added a separate 20 AMP breaker shore hook-up for it.

One thing about iRV2.com. You can learn about many new things you have never seen. The TS is NOT always at the shore cord hook-up on all makes & models.

Since you mentioned that, I do recall one of the other tech's in our shop working under the bed in an A class one time and told me he had a transfer switch problem.

Forgive my intrusion I'm just so used to them being in a street side rear compartment where the shore cord connects.

Shore Power issue

Hello, I would like to thank everyone for your suggestions. Mystery has been solved, and resolved. There is a " Master Breaker" under the bathroom sink cabinet large drawer. The transfer switch is behind the breaker box mounted above the dinette table. The feed back helped resolve the issue. Thanks again.

I do not have a fleetwood but when my Transfer Switch failed I went looking for it.. I thought. Where is the generator? (That's easy you can see it) Where is the inlet? (Likewise) and where is the breaker box (Again).

In my mind I figured out where the best point would be to put the switch in order to use the least amount of copper to hook it all up,,, and there it was.

Now another true story:

Brand new, I mean STICKER IN THE WINDOW new 5-er. Husband plugs in and wife goes to vacuum the small amount of dirt that has been tracked in.. NO POWER.

We went back to my rig and got the tools and meters.

Post: Good
Outlet end of shore cord... Fell off the cord in my hand.

Problem found.,

I have a 2009 American Allegiance. I called Fleetwood about the location of the transfer switch and was told it was under the bed inside a box located there. My advice is call Fleetwood Service. They are outstanding!
